Winners of the pupil library assistant of the year award 2016

We are delighted to announce that the winner of our inaugural Primary School Pupil Library Assistant of the Year Award 2016 is Celisse Hamilton from Globe Primary School. Runners up were Shuhada Begum from Blue Gate Fields Juniors and Angelis Jia Lloyd Gokool from Guardian Angels Primary.

The judging panel were impressed by the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm of all of the entrants, who wrote about why they volunteer to work in the school library. Having to make a very hard decision, the judges felt the winning entrants were taking on a high level of responsibility for their school library and showed initiative and ability to work on their own.

The winner and runners-up were presented with their awards (£50 / £10 book tokens, a trophy for the winner and certificates as well as a bag of books for their school library) on Wednesday 29th June by Prue Goodwin at the NQT reading conference, followed by tea and library games in the Schools Library Service!

The 2017 award will be announced in the Autumn term and more guidance can be found here:
